BEIJING: The China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) states that China will improve efforts to boost investment within the textile trade in Belt and Road countries.

According to Gao Yong, the council’s Party secretary, the CNTAC has assisted Chinese textile and clothing firms to know foreign investment environment and contributed to the signing of many overseas investment projects by establishing international platforms for multilateral exchanges and holding investment promotion meetings in recent years.

Over 80 percent of the Chinese textile and clothing industry’s global investment streamed to the B&R region from 2015 to 2018, as per the data from CNTAC. In the future, the CNTAC can still facilitate investment in B&R countries and push forward international production capacity cooperation within the textile sector, Gao said.
