INCHUAN: A Beninese and a Chinese hospital have jointly launched China-Benin telemedicine cooperation. The cooperation has been launched with the aim of providing China’s online medical services to medical institutions in the West African country.
Chinese doctors, at the center’s unveiling ceremony at First People’s Hospital in Yinchuan-capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, conducted an electrocardiogram and provided online diagnosis for a Beninese patient at the central hospital of Lokossa.
The center will offer medical services like online imaging, surgery guidance and patient management services to medical institutions in Benin. The center is supported by Internet powered telemedicine technology.
“The Benin subsidiary of Huawei had helped improve the Internet connection in Beninese medical institutions to ensure the proper operation of the telemedicine center,” said Ma Xiaofei, head of the Yinchuan municipal health commission.
