WARSAW: The seminar themed “Inheriting friendship and looking to the future” held in Warsaw marking 70 years of diplomatic relations. Approximately 100 representatives including government officials, scholars and businesspersons from China and Poland gathered in Warsaw on Thursday, expressed satisfaction with bilateral cooperation.
Liu Guangyuan Chinese Ambassador to Poland said that Poland was among the first countries to recognize the People’s Republic of China and establish diplomatic relations. The cooperation between the two countries has strengthened over the past years since Polish President Andrzej Duda’s state visit to Beijing in 2015 and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Warsaw in 2016.
Poland plays an important role in the Belt and Road Initiative and particularly in the “17+1” cooperation mechanism. The ambassador conveyed his gratification at the intensifying bilateral trade volumes, which touched 25 billion dollars in 2018 and improved scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries. Though he assured more opportunities are coming.
